life is at its best when i have only bread, broth, and perrier. i think i was born to live on the road. i just need to find some small house, very tiny that i can always come back to, because even if you live on the road, it is always good to have a home. i think thats because i always want a space that when i'm there, i can say "that was great fun, but a bed of my own was what it was missing." |

feelings that describe this week thus far:
unhappy
drained
depressed
lonely.
in short, this week has turned out to be the worst in a long long time.
i found out that one of my good friends is being taken off of life support after months of his condition worsening, which makes me sad, even though i know it is probably better this way. it's terrible to think that someones body can fail like that at such a young age, but in my circle, its a very unfortunate fact of life.

band of horses opens, music is beautiful, band is shy (seemingly asocial?) and thankful that everyone digs what they do.
iron and wine: yay for musical brilliance. they switched up some of the songs arrangement, most noteably love and some verses, which took on a dark turn , and cinder and smoke, which was a bit sparse compared to the cd version, both still excellent. naked as we came was dedicated to sam's inlaws, and was beautiful (always is), and most of the audience sang along. a drunk guy next to us was very how you say...ah yes....a moron. the following are his conversations withthe lead singer as shouted from the audience:
drunk:I want to have your beard!
sam beam: well....thanks.
random audience member: yeah, me too.
d:no, seriously, how did you get it?
sb: you want me to give you a tip?
d:hell yeah, fucking tell me!
sb: don't shave.
audience: laughs
d: sam!! come hang out with me tonight!!
sb: sure, what are you doing after the show?
d: gonna go out and drink some beers and chill!
sb: you like beer?
d: hell yeah.
sb: fuck that man, thats weak shit.
d: *silence*
d: sam beam is god!
sb: man...i don't know who misinformed you..
random girl: you are, really!
sb: well...not really, but thank you for saying so....
twas a great time, and at the end of the night, caitlin was adorable and sleepy and funny.
nowhere is open at midnight. bugger.
yay for my i & w t-shirt as a reminder of the concerts excellence.

a memory from the hospital that just came back to me:Leah, the girl on 245 (next door to my room, 247) liked french vanilla icecream with orange slices.
I learned this by taking her on "a date" to the cafe in the hospital. Remembered this because she emailed me to let me know how her year over seas is going. Apparently, Southern Greece is fantastic at the moment.
